Christine E. Petit, PhD is an organizational consultant, professional interim executive, and leadership coach with more than two decades of experience leading and strengthening nonprofits and social-impact organizations. A sociologist by training, she earned her PhD with emphases in race and class inequality and social change, grounding her leadership approach in systems thinking, equity, and organizational effectiveness.
Christine brings deep expertise across public policy, fund development, operations and administration, board relations and development, staff and leadership development, strategic visioning, and communications. She has guided organizations through periods of growth and transition—including rebranding efforts and the expansion of funding, programs, and staffing—while providing strategic direction for policy advocacy and community organizing. She is formally trained in succession planning and completed the Interim Executives Academy. Most recently, she served as Interim Executive Director of Rancho Los Alamitos in Long Beach, California.
As a leadership coach and facilitator, Christine supports leaders and teams in strengthening communication, collaboration, and decision-making. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, an Everything DiSC® Authorized Partner, and holds a Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Management from Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation. She defines leadership broadly—beginning with how you show up and take intentional, values-aligned action in everyday life.
